BRITISH TRUE CRIME

I suppose it was inevitable that my study of British Police History would eventually lead me into the world of TRUE CRIME.jack2.jpg - 14512 Bytes In my case I try to concentrate on British True Crime books, stories, and cases that focus on the investigators as well as the incident itself. The pleasure that I find in reading British True Crime is best described in the words of William Roughead, "Murder has a magic of its own, its peculiar alchemy.detd.jpg - 12375 Bytes Touched by that crimson wand, things base and sordid, things ugly and of ill report, are transformed into matters wondrous, weird and tragical. Dull streets become fraught with mystery, commonplace dwellings assume sinister aspects, everyone concerned, howsoever plain and ordinary, is invested with a new value and importance as the red light fall upon each."

By offering this page to readers on the Net, my goal is to provide an information forum or platform for those persons interested in British True Crime, British Police History and true crime cases occurring during Sherlock Holmes' time.
