Biographical & Genealogical Information
About The Constabulary's Webmaster
John B. Taylor

(Webmaster's Note * This page focuses on my personal family history/ancestry. If you are seeking information about your own ancestry and/or genealogical information about someone who once served as a British/Scottish/Irish police officer then I encourage you to check out all the resources available at Ancestry.Com and FamilyTreeMaker.Com; I have found that the message boards offered on both these sites are especially useful.)

My name is John B. Taylor. I am a 30-year veteran of the Arlington (Texas) Police Department. Joining the force while a college student I began my law enforcement career as a civilian communications operator. jbt2002.jpg - 6565 Bytes As soon as I turned twenty-one I was commissioned and within months became a uniformed patrol officer but not before working several choice assignments as a radio dispatcher and a jail officer. While in uniform I served as a member of the department's Tactical (SWAT) Unit. In 1983, after twelve years of uniformed service I took a civilian management position in the department. As Services Administrator I managed all civilian operations within the police department (i.e. Jail, Communications, Records, Property, etc.). In 1988 I became the department's Fiscal Services Manager and I served in that position where I was responsible for managing the department's budget, fleet, and buildings until my retirement on April 30, 2002. While enjoying a much deserved retirement, I spend much of my time pursuing Internet-related, business interests. You are welcome to visit my business web sites at www.TechnoDev.com, and www.ICPSS.com.

Obviously, as my homepage indicates, I enjoy playing with computers and the Internet; I started out with a Radio Shack Model 1 back in the early `70s. Although my hobby is collecting British Police memorabilia, I'm also into books, antiques, Sherlockiana, and woodworking.

Genealogical Information

I have long been interested in my family history. Recently, as the result of increased interest in genealogy due to the Internet, I decided to develop my own family history web site. Please CLICK HERE to visit JOHN B. TAYLOR's GENEALOGY WEB SITE.
